Our focus areas
Over the past 5-6 years we have focused a lot on creative subjects, with an extra focus on music, drama, and different artistic expressions. This year our work title is «Music and movement». By movement we mean both the physical and the mental part of developing and opening up to new experiences in interaction with others. Who am I and who are you? Through play with sounds, rhythm and songs the children will discover each other and become curious. Friendship and a community feeling (fellesskapsfølelse) is strengthened through singing and moving together. We fall into rhythm and become more receptive of other people. Music brings joy and a sense of security, and we feel that we are noticed within the community. Play and friendship playes an important part in our kindergarten, and we have experienced that music provides a good basis for working with relations and building new friendship.
In addition to music and movement, we will in the long run be working with the children’s environment for play. We focus on risk filled play, meaning that the children should be allowed to take on new challenges that will give them a feeling of achievement physically and in turn build up their confidence: I dare, I can, I manage! We have applied to be a part of a developmental project surrounding the kindergarten’s physical environment, both inside and outside. We are excited to learn how we can further facilitate different types of play and collaborate with the children on how to use our rooms and equipment.
